Do you look at the stunning scenes in Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and think all that was done by white talented artists in Brooklyn? No! A lot of international, mostly Hollywood films and TV shows outsource their scenes in India to be completed by Indian VFX institute, artists and companies.
A lot of people do not know this but the Indian manpower is not just used in the IT and engineering sector but also in the post production. The post production of films and TV shows abroad are not really done there.
In this article, we would be getting to know a little more about why does Hollywood send their content overseas for editing and which famous films have been done by Indian VFX artists.
India is the ‘hub’ of VFX, which means that there is a large amount of scope in this nation for anyone who wishes to pursue a career in this field. This makes the availability of talented artists easy. India also gives cheap labor facilities to the US because of the currency exchange rate.
Cheap labor is one of the most attractive factors to the film and production companies of the west. They believe that because of affordable manpower, they can outsource the work here and get it done.
This is beneficial for everyone. This outsourcing of work has created a vast number of job openings for Indian artists. Enrolling in a VFX training in Kolkata assures a good job and career stability to anyone. Not just internationally outsourced jobs, but there has been a significant rise in the Indian studios as well.
Over 10 million jobs are vacant at this particular point as well. You might want to consider joining a top VFX institute in Kolkata when the prospects are so damn high.
Whenever a popular Hollywood film bags an Oscar, we think to ourselves as to why India doesn’t make cinema like that. Well, little did you know that it is actually the hard work of Indians which made that film possible in the first place?
Oscar winning films like Interstellar and Avatar were completely edited by Indian VFX studios. Our VFX artists have the reputation for making some of the most stunning works when it comes to the CGI.
The CGI of James Bond’s Skyfall and Titanic were also mostly done by Indian VFX artists. Now if we move a little away from films, there are some very amazing shows which reflect how amazing the visual effects of Indian artists can be. Netflix India’s original show, Leila is a marvelous piece of CGI wonders.
Although, it is in Hindi language but it surely is an international level genius masterpiece. We all need to appreciate the hard core effort and contribution of CGI that went into the making of this series.
Life of Pi is another renowned Hollywood film which completely done by the geniuses of Indian minds.
