Netflix India is really changing the game with its amazing content delivery. It has been able to produce shows which have changed the face of Indian web streaming platforms. The success of Sacred Games gave India the confidence to experiment with other genres and make it a success.

2020 has been in an eventful year too in terms of the content put forth. However, there are great films lined up which look really promising with its solid plotline and story. Let’s take a look at them.

AK v/s AK

AK v/s AK, starring Anil Kapoor and Anurag Kashyap in the lead roles has been directed by Vikramaditya Motwane. The plot is really fresh and interesting. The synopsis of AK v/s AK reads, “A brash film director (Anurag Kashyap) kidnaps the daughter of a movie star (Anil Kapoor) and films the star’s desperate search for his daughter in real-time as his next blockbuster.”

Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane have earlier collaborated while directing Sacred Games. To this day, Sacred Games remains to be the most popular show on Netflix India. This time one of the infamous directors is going to share screen space with one of the most legendary actors of our times.

The first schedule of shoot is over. The release date however is unannounced considering the COVID-19 situation might have halted the shooting.

Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl

The film is about the life of Air Force pilot, Gunjan Saxena, the first Indian female pilot in combat. Defying all stereotypes and societal norms, Gunjan Saxena dared to dream and fly the fighter helicopter in Kargil War. This is a story of courage, strength and unabashed love and support from family. This is also going to be a great film for students who aspire to learn VFX courses in India.

The film was scheduled for theatrical release but the pandemic has brought to us in front of our screens on Netflix India. The film is set to release on 12th August 2020 on our Netflix screens. This is something you can put on your watch list as of now.

Torbaaz

Torbaaz is starring Sanjay Dutt as an Army Officer and also has Nargis Fakhri as the supporting character. The film is about child suicide bombers in Afghanistan, who have been trained to believe that killing the enemy is a virtue and glory in afterlife. This is a real intense film which might not have had gotten the appreciation it should have on theatres.

Netflix’s platform is perfect to recognize and appreciate a script this amazing.

The story of the film revolves around two cousins Dolly and Kajal and about a secret shared by them. This film is going to make you laugh, cry, think and also spurt out gags of humor around. It is a fun filled journey with so much to expect. Keep your eyes open for this one.

Class of ’83

Starring Bobby Deol in the lead role after almost a decade, Class of ’83 is an upcoming Indian drama film produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and directed by Atul Sabharwal. Red Chillies entertainment, owned by Shah Rukh Khan has not hesitated from investing in quality Netflix projects.

Whether it is Bard of Blood, Badla and now this, Red Chillies has never disappointed with digital investments. It tells the story of an upright policeman-turned police instructor Vijay Singh whose students grapple with the complexities of honor, morals and devotion towards their nation. A lot of students who learn VFX consider these epic Netflix India films to be a milestone.
