Behind The Screen Animation Of The Movie The Boss Baby

The Boss Baby is a 2017 American computer-animated comedy film loosely based on the 2010 picture book of the same name written and illustrated by Marla Frazee and produced by DreamWorks Animation. It was directed by Tom McGrath and written by Michael McCullers, and stars the voices of Alec Baldwin as the title character, Miles Bakshi, Steve Buscemi, Jimmy Kimmel, Lisa Kudrow, and Tobey Maguire. The plot follows a baby who is a secret agent in the secret war between babies and puppies.

The film had a lot of buzz for its animation sequences. The way the characters were designed and animated gave a whole another level of sense of amusement to the audience. The film had a very hilarious and twisty plot which made the audience love it even more. Other than this, the boss baby was a completely different film in terms of the making. The animation team had changed the look, style and appearance of the characters time and again.

The Art of The Boss Baby features a wide range of colorful development art, storyboards, and character sketches. Thanks to the latest technology, McGrath and his team were able to create that vintage look in 3D, building a visual universe that would be distilled through the mind of a 7-year-old whose greatest fear is that his parents prefer his little brother — a fear that any older sibling can relate to. The relatable factor of the film is another selling USP.

Other than this, the technical advancements of this film were well reflected with the animation techniques.  Carlos Puertolas, the head of animation, all the supervising animators, they did something different. They had character leads this time too. Animators committed to a certain character, defining their walk, finding something funny. A smile, a hand gesture. There was a lot of ownership with certain animators, with certain characters. Any new animators that came on and worked with them, it helped them understand the characters. So there was more of a consistency to it.

Nevertheless this film made people realize of the immense scope of animation that there is. Other than this, if you wish to learn anything about animation then you can enroll into the basic animation courses that will help you learn the craft well and with perfection. If you liked the film then even you can create animated characters of your own; the craft of animation will teach you that with perfection.
